Adel has graduated and been awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Isfahan, MSc from Shiraz University, and BSc from Mashhad (all three are among the most prestigious top universities in Iran). Adel has been involved actively in one-year research at the University of Sassari in Italy, where many big European Commission projects related to ecosystem management and land degradation are conducted. In Master and Ph.D. academic courses at those mentioned universities, he earned the equivalent of a 4 (letter grade A) cumulative grade point average on a 4 (US grading scale) and he was honored as a talented student.
